Homeplace Veterinary Services LLC

Dr Ashley Craig Hymer

Ashley Craig Hymer, DVM has spent most of her life in Central Kentucky. She has grown up riding, showing and working in the Saddlebred industry. After graduating from the first class of Equine Scholars at Georgetown College, she spent time working in the saddlebred industry before going onto graduating from Veterinary School at Tuskegee University. Dr. Craig-Hymer returned home to Central Kentucky following graduating veterinary school to complete an internship at Hagyards and then join their team as an associate. In 2020, Dr Ashley Craig-Hymer formed Homeplace Veterinary Services LLC. Her hope for HVS is to provide quality care for her clients and their horses.

Dr. Craig- Hymer’s passion is focusing on the whole horse and taking part of every life stage of the horse.  Reproduction, preventative care, general health, and performance horse health, with a special focus on the Saddleseat and Gaited horses, are some of Dr. Craig-Hymer’s main areas of interests.

Supporting Dr Craig-Hymer's veterinary passion is her husband, John Hymer, along with their menagerie of animals at home, and her parents who live in Georgetown Ky. You will often find some of their critters joining along on farm calls. Their dogs- Rocky, Ocoee, Denali and/or Country can often be found in the vet truck going farm to farm. But it isnt out of the ordinary to find Butterball the goat, or even Velvet the cow in her car too! Homeplace's name is inspired by the name for the farm where Dr Craig Hymer resides. The farm has been called the homeplace for over 100 years!
